Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy #2)

Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy #2) - Finished Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness. I liked it but didn't really like it so I will give it 3 stars. The whole book was set in 1590 England. I was beginning to think we'd never return to the present. In the end I didn't really like Diana much nor her husband Matthew . I know ho hum. I am not familiar with those times but apparently it is Shakespeares times but he only made his appearance in the final chapter. 42 Chapters in this book and most of them were admitingly grueling. I wouldn't suggest this book for just anyone. Unless you had a lot of time on your hands. The first book was better. A Discovery of Witches. To be honest the book isn't only about witches but vampires and daemons too. They all play a part as Diana goes in search of an ancient history book she found in the Bodlean Library at Oxford.
